Easterseals Southern California (ESSC) highly values the well-being and health of our community. We have been tracking the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and putting in place recommended policies to protect the health and safety of our program participants, staff, volunteers and friends.
With an abundance of caution, in consultation with our volunteer board leadership, and in careful evaluation of recent governmental recommendations from Governor Newsom, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Saturday’s Sip and Savor event. The spread of the virus and its potential impact on the community is not something we can ignore or underestimate, we feel at this time this is the only responsible course of action.
This year’s event was set to be held on Saturday, March 14 at the Marconi Automotive Museum. We've been busily planning to host more than 200 guests – each gathering to help support infants, children and adults with disabilities to live, learn, work and play in our shared community. We know all of you are having to make similar decisions in your life and work, and as many of our closest donors and friends, we hope you’ll understand.
We truly appreciate your ongoing partnership with ESSC. Our team is quickly shifting gears, developing a way we can all still help contribute to our programs and services through a new, innovative virtual event. Please stay tuned for more information. In the interim, our team will reach out to everyone within the next week or so to ask if you prefer to leave your donation with us or if you prefer to have your gift refunded. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me firstname.lastname@example.org or Nancy Weintraub email@example.com.
Though we will miss the opportunity to see you all this weekend, we look forward to continuing to work together and having a positive impact on those we serve through our life-changing programs and services.
