Every day, ESSC makes a lasting difference by providing essential disability and community services to more than 25,000 children, adults and families across SoCal.

From early childhood programs during the critical first five years to autism services, daily and independent living support, employment programs and more, our work helps people define what empowerment means to them and pursue it on their own terms.

Through our public education, policy and advocacy initiatives, we’re also working to shape a more inclusive world—one that celebrates and supports the one in four Americans living with a disability today.

Did You Know?

According to the CDC, 25% of U.S. residents, more than 70 million people, have a disability. In California, that includes more than 9 million people, with nearly 5.5 million living in SoCal alone. One in 31 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and, in California, the rate is even higher—one in 19.
