Every Star Has a Stage: Inclusive Talent Show is a Big Hit!

In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, Easterseals Southern California’s Northridge Autism Therapy Center hosted a very special talent show featuring service recipients. Their shining star, young performers did not disappoint!

The center staff designed the event to be inclusive and supportive for every participant, keeping sensory needs in mind. For example, each performer was asked how they preferred to be applauded: clapping, finger snaps or hand waves. Additionally, a nearby quiet room was available for anyone who needed a sensory break.  

A Night to Remember

The evening’s performances featured multiple renditions of the KPOP Demon Hunters song; a little yogi demonstrating perfect yoga poses; a reading of The Very Hungry Caterpillar; I Love Slime song and dance routines; a Father's Day art presentation; a science experiment; piano playing; a Skylanders demonstration; and more!

Therapy Center Supervisor, Jessica Salian, MA, CCC-SLP, said, “Our performers amazed and delighted us with acts that showcased creativity, courage and individuality. Every child brought something unique to the stage. It was heartwarming to see the joy on the children's and the parents' faces throughout the evening. We could not have been more proud.”
