Snoop Dogg Cheers on Chargers and Easterseals at Inclusive Football Camp

The Los Angeles Chargers showcased the power of accessible football for everyone by partnering with Easterseals Southern California (ESSC), to host more than 150 kids from Snoop Special Stars, a division of the Snoop Youth Football League that is transforming the lives of youth with special needs. 

Snoop Special Stars is a program founded by the multi-award-winning rapper Snoop Dogg, which provides sports opportunities for children with special needs, promoting inclusivity and personal growth through football and cheerleading. The program, with a motto of EveryBODY Plays, aims to change the way people view individuals with disabilities.

Wide Receiver Ladd McConkey’s Playbook

During the event, participants had the opportunity to meet and learn the fundamentals of football from Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey—named one of the NFL’s top 100 players in 2025—in a fun and inclusive environment. 

Held at The Bolt—the Chargers state‑of‑the‑art training facility and headquarters located in the heart Los Angeles’ South Bay—the day featured cheerleading instruction and flag football drills ahead of the Youth Football League’s summer kickoff.

To make the day even more memorable, Snoop Dogg took to the field to cheer on the players!

Three Times the Fun!

“This was our first year participating and they had the best time!” said Ashlynn, whose six-year-old triplets—Leo, Ashton and Azlynn—have been receiving autism services from ESSC in San Bernardino for four years and are doing well. 

“Leo and Ashton were learning flag football and Azlynn participated in cheerleading. Every child should be seen and heard whether they have a disability or not—and they were very patient with the kids.

“My kids were just excited to be there,” she continued, “having fun and learning to play a sport that  their dad loves. They are new to this world and they have way more emotions than most other kids their age, so it was great for them to be with other kids, some of whom were also having stimming movements and wanting to wander. 

Snoop is in the House!

“We also had the opportunity to meet Snoop and he was amazing,” Ashlynn added. “The kids love Doggyland on YouTube, so when Ashton heard him speak, he immediately said, “You sound like Snoop Dogg from Doggyland!” Snoop smiled and replied, ‘I am Snoop Dogg.’ 

“Ashton instantly put his hands on his head in complete shock! Leo and Azlynn started laughing and saying, ‘We can’t believe it’s you! You’re not a character!’

“It was such a sweet and unforgettable moment,” she recalls. “Snoop was incredibly kind, patient and genuine with the children. He took his time with them and made them feel so special. 

“We are truly grateful to be part of the league and thankful for opportunities like these, where children of all abilities can experience joy, inclusion and belonging.”

Connecting Families to Disability Services

While there, parents and caregivers also had the chance to connect with ESSC staff members to learn more about available programs and services that support individuals with disabilities and their families.
