Debbie Nix is the Chief People Officer at Easterseals Southern California (ESSC). In this capacity, Nix spearheads the people services strategy, encompassing talent acquisition, talent and leadership development, culture, total rewards and technology. Additionally, Nix serves on ESSC's chief executive team, contributing to the organization's overall strategy, transformation and cultural evolution.
With more than 20 years as a transformational HR executive, Nix has led renowned HR teams in attracting, developing, engaging and rewarding diverse talents. Her expertise includes managing large-scale HR and risk management operations, enhancing organizational capabilities and fostering high-performance cultures. Committed to inclusion and belonging, Nix aims to empower teams and individuals to achieve their full potential.
Nix's extensive experience in human resources (HR) spans various companies, including Covenant Care, Safeco, Pacific Care (now United Healthcare), Symbol Technologies (now Motorola) and Electronic Data Systems (now Hewlett Packard).
Nix holds an MBA from Webster University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. She also earned her Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) through the Society of Human Resources Management.
Nix has a passion for supporting her community through serving as a board member or volunteer with many non-profit organizations including Working Wardrobes, Family Assistance Ministries, National Human Resources Association and the American Cancer Society.
