Jessica B. Miller, Ed.D., CCC-SLP, is Vice President of Therapy Services, Autism Services, for Easterseals Southern California (ESSC), where she manages the internal therapy centers, the Therapy Provider Network (TPN) and is currently serving as the interim leader of the Behavioral Provider Network.
In this role, she supports 10 internal ESSC therapy centers and approximately 100 partners within ESSC’s TPN. The TPN spans Southern California with 180 locations, providing speech, occupational and physical therapy for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. Additionally, the behavioral network is comprised of 21 network partners with approximately 75 locations providing applied behavior analysis.
Miller joined ESSC in 2013, beginning as the Clinical Standards Director for Speech Pathology, moving to Director of the Therapy Provider Network and later becoming Director of Therapy Services, before assuming her current role in 2021.
Prior to relocating to California from Philadelphia, Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders from Wester Chester University, followed by a master’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science from LaSalle University.
She began her career in San Diego where she completed her clinal fellowship as a speech language pathologist in the public school system. When starting her career Miller also worked with home health patients in the evenings, providing services to stroke patients, individuals with varying degrees of dysphagia, Parkinson’s and a variety of other disorders.
Later, Miller transitioned to a private clinic, focusing on providing pediatric services with an emphasis on autism and early intervention. During her time in the private clinic, she supervised its satellite clinic.
Miller went back to earn a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University in 2022, successfully defending her dissertation, A Delphi Study of the Skills Necessary for a Speech Language Pathologist or Occupational therapist to be Successful in a Leadership Position.
