CARF Accreditation: A Mark of Excellence

Easterseals Southern California is proudly accredited with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), a designation that reflects our unmatched quality, innovation and commitment to excellence.

Easterseals' CARF Accreditation Status 

For the second consecutive survey, Easterseals earned the highest three-year CARF accreditation and a perfect outcome with no recommendations, recognizing our commitment to continual improvement and innovation.

What is CARF Accreditation? 

CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, is an independent, nonprofit organization that provides accreditation services worldwide. CARF accreditation is a rigorous process that demonstrates a commitment to quality, accountability, and the best possible outcomes for the people served. 

Why is CARF Accreditation Important? 

  1. Quality Assurance: CARF accreditation ensures that organizations meet internationally recognized standards. This means that the services provided are of the highest quality and are continuously improved.
  2. Accountability: Accredited organizations are held accountable for their performance and are required to undergo regular reviews and evaluations. This ensures transparency and trustworthiness.
  3. Best Practices: CARF accreditation promotes the adoption of best practices in service delivery, ensuring that individuals receive the most effective and efficient care. 

How CARF Impacts Easterseals 

  • We ASPIRE to Excellence: CARF uses the ASPIRE to Excellence Quality Framework to guide their survey. This continuous improvement model assures that we work to improve what we do through ongoing change driven by input from people served.
  • Held to High Standards. We are held accountable to more than 1,200 CARF standards. In addition, the surveyors conduct extensive documentation reviews and interviews with our Board, associates, participants, families and funders.
  • A Comprehensive Effect. CARF accredits Easterseals’ Autism Services and Employment Services. However, all of Easterseals’ primary organizational functions are held to CARF standards, such as our Vision and Impact Plan, safety, technology, finance, people practices, diversity, advancement, advocacy and communication with our stakeholders.
  • Three Years of Standards. The CARF survey takes place over three days, during which it is necessary to provide evidence that standards have been maintained over the previous three years and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to meeting these standards in the future.
