Get your work iPhone or iPad set up fast with this easy Apple Mobile Device Enrollment guide.
What you will need:
Work issued iOS mobile device (iPads and iPhones), fully charged.
Wi-Fi connection is best, however Cellular service or using a Hot Spot should work.
Okta login credentials, information on this was provided in your NAE packet.
Before you start:
Read through the instructions below to get an idea of what is expected.
Familiarize yourself with the device layout.
Apple Mobile Device Enrollment Process
Turn on device.
Press and hold down the device power button until it turns on. (A few seconds.) The device will reset.
When the 'Hello' screen appears: Press the 'Home' button located at the bottom of the device.
Tap on your preferred language.
Select 'United States' as the Country.
Tap on 'Set Up Manually.'
Connect to a Wi-Fi Network or Hot Spot. (This is where you will see your Wi-Fi options. If you experience a problem at this step, contact Helpdesk).
Please wait for the activation to complete.
Tap on 'Next' in the top right corner of screen.
Microsoft sign-in screen, type in your full ESSC email address.
Sign-in using your Okta credentials.
Your ESSC email address
Your Okta passphrase (you created this earlier for logging into your computer and it is 12 or more characters long).
In the future, you may hear the term Okta password which is the same as Okta passphrase.
The 6-digit passcode for your mobile device (iPads and iPhones) is not the same thing as your Okta passphrase.
A 6-digit passcode will only be used on a mobile device and is made of 6 numbers only.
Answer your Okta Security Question.
Please wait for the configuration to complete.
Tap on 'Continue' to turn on 'Touch ID' or 'Face ID,' or tap on 'Set Up Touch ID Later.'
Create a 6-digit passcode for device security.
Tap on 'Enable Location Services.'
Device home page opens and applications start downloading.
When you receive this Exchange password prompt - pop up message, tap on 'Edit Settings.' If the pop up message does not appear, tap the ‘Settings’ icon and proceed to Step 18.
ActiveSync allows end users to connect their Exchange mailbox (Microsoft Outlook) with a mobile device (iPads and iPhones). This includes your Notes,
Calendar, Contacts and Reminders.
Tap on 'Notes,' then tap on 'Accounts.'
Tap on 'Easterseals Exchange.' (If the 'Easterseals Exchange' account is not visible, skip to Step 29 and come back to this step after completing all the other steps in this guide.)
Tap on 'Re-enter Password.'
Sign-in with your Okta credentials.
Type in the answer to your Okta Security Question.
Setup Exchange as the default account for your Calendar, Contacts, Notes, and Reminders.
Go into 'Settings' and tap 'Notes.'
Then tap on 'Default Account.'
Tap on 'Easterseals Exchange.'
From the 'Settings' column, tap on 'Calendar,' then tap on 'Default Calendar.'
Tap on 'Calendar' under the 'Easterseals Exchange' section.
From the 'Settings' column, tap on 'Contacts, then tap on 'Default Account.'
Confirm 'Easterseals Exchange' is check-marked.
The Company Portal application does not open automatically, tap on the icon to open and then tap on the 'Sign-in' button.
Microsoft Intune Sign-in screen appears. Type in your full ESSC email address and then tap on 'Next.'
Type in your Okta login credentials.
Answer your Okta Security Question.
Tap on the 'Ok' button. A pop-up message will appear, tap 'Allow' for notifications.
Tap on the 'Begin' button.
Tap on the 'Done' button.
Congratulations! You have set up your Apple device.
