Easterseals Southern California (ESSC) is proud to once again earn full reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)—the gold standard in health and human services accreditation.
Also, for the third audit in a row, CARF found no areas in need of review or recommendations, a rare distinction achieved by fewer than 1% of CARF-accredited organizations worldwide, reflecting our ongoing commitment to high-quality, person-centered services.
Said Mark Whitley, CEO & President of ESSC, “This CARF Seal of Approval tells us that we are leading the way, exceeding expectations, staying on top of best practices and driving innovation. Recognition like this is powerful. Each member of our team, in their own way, makes Easterseals a special place. I couldn’t be prouder of what we’re accomplishing together.”
In addition, ESSC received seals of Exemplary Conformance in two areas, a rare honor recognizing practices that deliver outstanding results and demonstrating innovation and creativity worthy of being shared across the field.
Recognition of Exemplary Conformance
Marketing Initiatives: CARF was impressed by the impact of the strong partnerships ESSC has developed with disability advocates, social media influencers, the film & TV industry and with sports teams—as well as the impact of our D1$@B1L*tY is Not a Dirty Word PSA campaign. CARF cited that our partnerships and initiatives are leading to a profound shift in how the disability community is seen, heard and viewed.
Said the report, By amplifying the voices of the disability community, [ESSC] has created a resounding impact … has pushed for a more inclusive and diverse world … [and has] challenged norms, [leading] to a profound shift in how the disability community is seen and heard.
Technology: Also noted was ESSC’s “impressive” and cutting-edge use of virtual reality, helping learners with diverse abilities, creating new opportunities for associates and participants and replacing isolation with connection and understanding.
