Easterseals Opens New Head Start Center in Encinitas

Easterseals SoCal opens a new Head Start Center in Encinitas, offering early learning, family support, and brighter futures for children ages 0–5.

Recently, Easterseals Child Development Services (CDS) celebrated a milestone moment with the grand opening of our new Head Start Center in Encinitas.

Through the Head Start program, Easterseals Southern California provides free childcare and early learning and nutrition services for children ages 0–5 to qualifying families. Families also receive coaching, support and assistance connecting to healthcare, therapy and other vital resources—helping to strengthen community ties, empowering children to thrive and enabling families to build a foundation for long-term success.

Said Cecilia Baeza, Center Director, “As we cut the ribbon today, we’re not only opening the doors to a new building but also opportunities for children, families and generations to come.” 

Itzel, a parent who attended the ribbon cutting ceremony, said, “Now my three-year-old daughter is attending Head Start and is thriving the same way I once did.”

Summed up Karen Rojas, regional Director, CDS, “At Easterseals, we believe every child deserves a strong start!”
