Child Development Services

Easterseals Child Development Centers (CDCs) serve children from birth to five years of age and their families.

Overview

Our Child Development Services offer pre-school and family support services at our Child Development Centers (CDC) and in-home. 

Our centers feature safe and caring environments, state-of-the-art tools and programs, individualized learning plans, highly qualified teachers, and are inclusive of children with or without disabilities. 

Services are free for eligible families, except for the California State Pre-school program in Ventura which may have a minimal fee depending on the family's income.

From interactive classrooms to outdoor play areas, our center is designed to support every stage of early childhood development. 

Depending upon the CDC location, we offer: 

Head Start

  • Free learning and play programs for kids ages 3 to 5. We welcome all children, with or without disabilities, from families who meet income requirements.

Early Head Start

  • Home visits and center programs that support healthy growth and strong family bonds. Free for pregnant women, infants, and toddlers up to age 3, with qualifying income.

Child Care

  • A safe, nurturing place where kids can learn and play. We support children’s growth while meeting the needs of families who are working or continuing their education. 

Disability Services

  • We make sure every child can learn, play, and grow in a way that works best for them.

Health Services

  • Vital health screenings, follow-up care, and connections to additional medical help when needed. This keeps kids healthy and catches any concerns early. 

Mental Health Services

  • Support and counseling to help kids understand their feelings and behavior, so they can feel strong, happy, and ready to learn.

Nutrition Services

  • Healthy meals and snacks are provided, along with teaching families about eating well and making good food choices. 

Family Support Services

  • Parenting tips, local resource suggestions, and workshops to give families more strength and stability.

Home-based Support

  • Learning and family services provided directly in the home, empowering parents as their child’s first teacher and supporting school readiness.
