Friendship Grows Here!

Easterseals SoCal’s Child Development Services celebrated Friendship Day with crafts, treats and lessons on kindness, showing it’s never too early to be a friend.

It’s not what we have in life, but who we have in our lives that truly matters. Friendship Day offers a meaningful opportunity to recognize the importance of connection, kindness and trust—even for our youngest learners.

Many of Easterseals’ Child Development Services programs in locations across SoCal—including daycare, Early Head Start, Head Start and Head Start Home Base—paused their regular routines in February to celebrate the joy of friendship. The day was filled with colorful crafts, shared treats and meaningful activities designed to help little ones understand what it means to care for one another.

“Twice a month, Early Head Start Home Base from Ontario hosts family socializations,” shared Crystal Porras, Home Base Visitor, who works closely with families to help them become their child’s first and most important teacher. “On this day, we were celebrating friendship. It’s never too early to learn how to be a friend.”
